We start all those new to CrossFit with Four Personal Coaching Intro Sessions, because we want to get to know you so we can best meet your individual needs.
We'll take time to find out your goals, teach you the 9 Foundational CrossFit Movements, and explain how our programs work.

Once registered, you'll be contacted within 24 hours to schedule your first session.
We are super flexible and work around your schedule with available times Monday thru Friday between 5am - 6pm and Sat between 8am - 2pm.
TRANSFERRING FROM ANOTHER AFFILIATE?
This is a mandatory prerequisite onboarding session that must be completed before joining SunDog CrossFit if someone has at least 6 months experience from another CrossFit Affiliate.
It is our intent to ensure the success of each person who joins our community, and we use this session to explain how our program works and get you set up for success.

SunDog provides Fitness for Everyone. We are an inclusive community that supports and encourages each other to be better every day. Our classes and private coaching are based on the knowledge of so many who have influenced our practices. We follow the principles of USAWeightlifting, Starting Strength, Gymnastics Course, Pose Method, The Ready State and the CrossFit methodology, just to name a few. We believe a combination of these methods provide a strong foundation for all of our programs and works for anyone – from those simply interested in general fitness to elite athletes. We were formally known as SunDog CrossFit, and are still affiliated under the name SunDog CrossFit, but have chosen to rebrand as SunDog Community Fitness because our services go beyond CrossFit classes.
We offer several programs to choose from, but each is comprised of functional movements (we push, pull, squat, lift, and run often), and we believe in pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones so our bodies learn to adapt and become stronger. At SunDog Community Fitness, you will not find any machines – instead, you will find kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, sleds, and tons of open space for running, jumping, lifting, and throwing. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means a new participant and an experienced athlete can complete the same workout side by side with changes in load and intensity. SunDog workouts will deliver exceptional fitness in and of itself or as a complement to your sport-specific training regime. We want to help you move better so you can enjoy all the activities you love to do as a stronger and healthier person.
Still Asking What Does This ALL MEAN?
'ALWAYS DIFFERENT': Every day brings a new kind of workout (WOD) incorporating a variety of elements and to work on different muscle groups and/or cardiovascular strength.
'ALWAYS FUNCTIONAL': Maintaining the safest, most efficient position to power through a movement. The movements we do at SunDog mirror activities you do every day in your life. We promise to instruct you and help you maintain correct positioning in a workout - both to keep you safe and maximize efficiency.
'ALWAYS WITH MAX EFFORT: This is a hard one for most people to grasp. Many in the athletic old school world relate a workout's efficiency to spending HOURS in the gym. You will never hear one of our athletes say, 'WOW- that was a fantastic workout; I was in the gym for 5 hours!' You will hear, 'I killed that workout- finished in 8 minutes!'
We follow the Speal Gym Programming which is designed to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Then SunDog Community Fitness is for YOU. Our classes take place at our beautiful location at the intersection of Lathrop and Van Horn, adjacent to Go Wild Juicery and right down from Gymnastics Inc. Every workout is different, and since you will rarely do the same thing twice, you are less likely to lose interest or get bored than if you were doing the same circuits at the gym three days a week. Our classes (depending on the program you choose) range from 45 minutes to one hour long so they can fit into even the busiest schedules. Perhaps most importantly, since we opened our doors in January 2012 as Elite Urban Fitness, our athletes have seen dramatic changes in their speed, strength, performance, and body composition. In 2014 we became SunDog and have continued to improve and grow to make our community the premier spot to train in Fairbanks.

We offer small group classes led by knowledgeable trainers who will motivate you to perform at your best. Each class is designed to challenge you physically and mentally. We strive to bring elite fitness to all individuals, regardless of their current fitness level. Beware, we are not a globo-gym! We have no ellipticals, stationary weights, no mirrors, no judging and no excuses!!! Just an effective workout designed daily to suit each individual's needs. It's not easy. You will leave each session feeling empowered, exhilarated and exhausted at the same time.
